Written by Evgeniia Shakirova, ME GOODY Sales and Outreach Intern This November ME GOODY hosted another FirstLight Film Screening session. Each First Light Film Screening session is an intimate micro-cinema experience dedicated to showcasing emerging and independent filmmakers from Thailand and beyond. Each gathering highlights creative voices that are still growing, experimenting, and discovering their style. This month’s session featured five short films: Never Again by Kyle K., Ann Be Cloud by Thanakorn Yangmeesuk, A-Phet Species by Panitarn Boontarig, Bangkok in Reality by Nathaphol Makaraphong, and Echoes of the Past by Phan Thanh Trung.
After the screening, we continued with an open discussion – a core tradition of FirstLight. This month, the conversation resonated deeply with MEGOODY’s November theme: “How do I grow when life gets tough?” Participants shared reflections on the challenges emerging filmmakers face, from limited budgets to creative blocks, from navigating self-doubt to learning how to tell honest stories in a competitive industry. Many spoke about resilience, community support, and the importance of making art even when circumstances feel unclear. It was a thoughtful exchange that reminded all of us how growth often happens quietly, in between moments of uncertainty. We’re grateful for everyone who joined this session and contributed to the dialogue. FirstLight continues to evolve as one of ME GOODY’s most meaningful monthly events – a place for storytelling, creativity, and genuine connection. If you’re interested in independent cinema, collaborative conversations, or simply being part of a warm and welcoming creative space in Bangkok, we invite you to join us for the next session.
